Jim’s mission as a personal trainer is to provide his clients with high quality fitness instruction, aimed at achieving their specific goals. He believes that anyone can stay young, fit and strong by balancing cardiovascular fitness with effective resistance training, core conditioning, flexibility and a healthy diet.

Experience and Qualifications
Jim’s extensive experience training and teaching, both locally and internationally has given him the opportunity to work closely with competitive and recreational athletes for the past 19 years. “It is my pleasure to bring this experience to my clients at Urban Athlete.”
Jim is a Certified Personal Training Specialist with Can Fit Pro. He truly enjoys watching and helping people change their lifestyles by helping them achieve strong bodies and good health through increased personal fitness. As the National Coordinator for The Council of Amateur Sport Kickboxing (Thai Boxing Discipline), he coaches both adult and junior national teams. He holds a 5th Degree Black Belt in Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate and a 3rd Degree Black Belt with the NKA (National Karate Association – Sport Canada). His certifications include NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program – Sport Canada) in both Boxing and Karate, and Level 2 Coaching with CASK (Council of Amateur Sport Kickboxing), as well as a Chief Officials Certification (pending) with CASK. His Educational background includes HSM Program – Cornell University, ISMP – Ivey School of Business and Ontario Police College.
Jim still boxes recreationally, mountain bikes, runs and engages in resistance training as his passion for fitness.
