Personal Trainer
If Jacqueline Gradish’s name rings a bell, it may be because she was named Top Trainer (small-medium club) Goodlife Fitness in 2001 or Trainer of the Year, Totum Lifescience in 2004. It may also be because she is making an impact at The Urban Athlete as a personal trainer, specializing in Pre/Post Rehab Training, as well as special health care needs and fat loss. Jacqueline herself has an active history in soccer, basketball and volleyball. She was named MVP for Guelph’s Gryphons Volleyball Team in 1993 and was a member of the Gold and Bronze Ontario Regional Volleyball Teams (1987/88). Jacqueline’s qualifications include a B.Sc. in Human Kinetics from University of Guelph; Medical Exercise Specialist certification from American Academy of Fitness and Rehab Professionals; a TWIST-Bosu instructor course; and, Can-Fit Pro and ACE personal trainer certifications. Never one to rest on her (albeit abundant) laurels, Jacqueline continues to study and learn (at the Ryan Lee Boot camp-Stamford Connecticut 2006, International Youth Training Certification , Joint Mobility Programming course, and the SWIS conference 2004). Jacqueline wants her clients to learn to understand the root of the movement they are performing and why it’s beneficial to them. “I feel their knowledge is the foundation to their programming,” she says. “And after the fundamental movements are established – it’s train hard or go home.”
