Dr. Darlene Buan-Basit graduated from CMCC in 2003 and has enjoyed working as both a chiropractor and Pilates instructor in midtown Toronto. She is certified through Body Harmonics and Stott Pilates teaching matwork, reformer, chair, cadillac and barrel.
She specializes in Therapeutic Pilates for people overcoming injuries or managing chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia, scolosis and arthritis, as well as pre-natal/post-natal care. She has worked with professional hockey players providing treatment and pilates training, as well as many avid athletes. She is also affiliated with Neurocore Physiotherapy and Pilates assisting with treatments/rehabilitation of spinal cord injuries and other neurological conditions.
Additional certification/education includes Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster and Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture from CMCC, Active Release Technique and other myofascial techniques, and SpiderTech kinesotape, and most recently completion of the Independant Medical Exam and American Medical Association Guide for Impairment Ratings.
When Darlene is not working, she enjoys downhill skiing, cycling, swimming/snorkelling, yoga and learning to play a harp!
